Task Force 983
captain rhys calder “anchor”
British Army, 22 SAS (Retired)
Calder is the quiet center of the storm — methodical, unflinching, and unreasonably calm under fire. Decorated and disillusioned, he’s been called back to lead the newly formed Task Force 983. Off-duty, he’s still learning what “off-duty” actually means. Known for dry humor, iron focus, and a loyalty that borders on self-destruction.
(Rumor has it, even Veyr watches her tone around him.)
Major Callum Stroud “Sabre”
Royal Marines, Intelligence Division
Stroud is the team’s bulldog — brilliant, composed, and as charming as he is ruthless when the job demands it. His connection to Calder runs deep, though neither talk about it. On paper, he’s an intel analyst. In practice, he’s the one you don’t notice until you should’ve.
(Dar calls him “the dangerous kind of polite.”)
lieutenant logan ward “storm”
Former SAS sniper and field tactician
Ward is precision in motion — part sniper, part strategist, part chaos management system. Once the best shot in his regiment, he now serves as the team’s second-in-command and resident skeptic. Lives by the motto: “Plan twice, improvise once.” Calm under fire but lethal when pushed, Ward is as protective of the team as he is of their secrets.
(If sarcasm were a weapon, he’d never miss.)
Sean Kennedy “Nine Iron”
Golf instructor turned field trainee
Sean is the wildcard. Former pro golfer, current chaos enthusiast. Kennedy stumbled into the orbit of Task Force 983 during an extraction gone wrong and never quite left. Now he’s training under Ward and Malik, learning how to trade nine-irons for night ops. Charm and quick wit cover nerves and a growing addiction to adrenaline.
(Still refuses to call Logan “sir.”)
Dar Montgomery “SIBYL”
Criminologist, civilian consultant
Analyst. Survivor. Reluctant team conscience. Dar decodes people the way others read data — quickly, accurately, and sometimes too deeply. She was pulled into the task force for her insight into human behavior and network patterns. Lives in the safehouse-turned-operations-hub with the team (and one very opinionated cat, Twigs).
(Her superpower: solving the unsolvable. Also, weaponized tea.)
Sergeant Malik Osei “hawk”
Counterterrorism specialist, close-quarters expert
London-born and forged in fire, Osei’s loyalty runs deep. He’s the team’s moral compass and their most dangerous weapon when lines get blurred. Equal parts philosopher and fighter, Malik trusts his instincts — and occasionally, a strong cup of tea.
(Once wrestled a drone out of the sky with his bare hands. Don’t ask.)
Director Veyr
No one knows her full title, but when Veyr calls, the world tends to listen. A strategist operating far above visible command, she’s the reason TF983 exists — and the reason none of them truly got to retire. She’s either saving the world or rearranging its chessboard. Possibly both.
(If you think she’s bluffing, you’ve already lost.)

Pam Adams “No Codename. No Filter.”
Owner of Adam’s Sweet Spot — and unofficial TF983 quartermaster
Pam’s pastries are legend in Hereford — and so is her ability to extract the truth faster than most interrogators. Dar’s best friend since secondary school, she’s the team’s civilian anchor: supplier of caffeine, baked goods, and unsolicited advice. Fiercely protective, hilariously blunt, and entirely unimpressed by anyone’s “classified” nonsense.
(Once threatened to weaponize a rolling pin. No one’s doubted her since.)
Twigs “AGENT PAWS”
Species: Domestic shorthair tabby (allegedly)
Role: Morale Officer / Unauthorized Keyboard Operator
Twigs has no formal military training but refuses to let that stop her. Stationed primarily in Dar’s office, she serves as the team’s unofficial security system — alerting to intruders, suspicious noises, and the occasional pigeon. Known for sleeping through briefings, walking across encrypted keyboards, and once triggering a classified data transfer (still under investigation).
(Operational strengths: stealth, intimidation via tail flick. Weaknesses: laser pointers, butter.)
